Freddy Beach’s Very Own Social Site
Sirf Marketing owner, David MacCoubrey is proud to announce the official launch of the local social site; Fred-E-Scene (FES). Fred-E-Scene is the place to connect with people solely from the Fredericton and the Surrounding Region. The site strives to celebrate everything positive about Fredericton, from its cool people, awesome businesses and exciting events.
“I wanted to create something that linked the people of Fredericton and the Surrounding Region in a positive manner.” says site designer David MacCoubrey. “From Oromocto to Fredericton to Mactaquac, the whole region is interlinked somehow through family, friends, events and business. There are large global social sites that the people from this vibrant region can use to connect, but I wanted to create a site that was more focused on local.”
At first glance the site is very unassuming, but if you dig deeper, you will find that there are a myriad of features that make it very unique to the region. The social component, called GetSocial, allows users to create personal profiles with a photo, where they can then share status updates, photos, and videos. It is very quick and easy to sign-up. The fun part is users can network with their friends, with the ability to private message them, send instant messages, make comments, or tag friends in a status update. Users can also create or participate in groups, events and forums.
Another fun activity that users will enjoy is the Pic of the Day section. The section calls on budding local photographers to submit their amazing pictures from around the region to be displayed in the FES online gallery. Fred-E-Scene also has a news section where people can submit positive stories from around the region. For others to read.
“The site is very people oriented and there is so much to do. It allows users on the site to enjoy things that they would enjoy in their everyday life; friends, local events and business”, says MacCoubrey.
The site does have sections dedicated to business and community. The GoLocal section features stories and news from local breweries, NPO’s, sports teams, markets and more. Businesses and local organizations can utilize the Events section to get their events out to the region. Other pages of interest are the local Specials and Contests sections where users can find local deals, or contests to enter.
There is a business directory, where businesses can create engaging profiles with: their logo, contact information, text, videos, images, HTML links, social profiles, and Google Map integration. The directory is a FREE service on the FES site, as there are free and paid options. There are also various other advertising opportunities on the site.
MacCoubrey goes on to explain that there are other FES events and activities already in the works, including music events, and a men’s business networking group. He wants Fred-E-Scene to be a hub of activity in the community.
The site is mobile friendly and socially integrated, as well, with profiles on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Become a fan today to join the Fred-E-Scene network. There is a mobile app in the works to make the experience even more enjoyable. If you are interested in finding out more about the site or advertising, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
MacCoubrey states that, “There is a little bit of everything for users to do on the site. All we need to do now is get them on there. Browse the site at http://fred-e-scene.com and discover everything that is awesome about Fredericton and the Surrounding Region.”
