Come One, Come All to the 2017 Fredericton Pride Week

Fredericton Pride was founded to celebrate diversity in who we love and how we show it. They are group of individuals spanning different ages, races, social/economic backgrounds, and represent a diverse assortment of sexual orientations and gender identities within the greater Fredericton area. Coming together as volunteers to plan and execute fantastic events and activities. This all manifests into a week-long celebration of diversity and understanding…AKA Fredericton pride week.

Wednesday, August 09 | Doors: 6:00 pm / Show: 9:00 pm
The Phoenix

Come out for a fab night in preparations for Fredericton Pride! Come hang out with Brooke Rivers, Trinity Foxx, Racheal Slurr, Freeda Whales and Hinky Dinky at The Phoenix. Relax and have a drink or learn about all the fabulous events happening in Fredericton during pride week. Stay afterwards for Bottomless Bingo as your admission covers your entry!

7$ admission gets you a drink and food provided by Monks & Jonesie Gastro Truck
All money goes to support Aids NB.

To celebrate Pride, the UNB Music Society is collaborating with Fredericton Pride for a night of music and love. Come and watch your favourite local performers!

Admission fee: $5 (all proceeds go to Fredericton pride)

Boom Rave Night
Saturday August 12th at 10 PM – 2 AM

Its Rave Night with DJ Skyye (Bryan Hopkins) at Boom Nightclub for one night only… Drink specials all night long and Free Cover until 11pm! After 11pm only $5 at the door.

2017 Fredericton Pride Festival and Parade
Sunday, August 13th at 12 PM – 5 PM
Officer’s Square

The festival will run from 12pm-5pm in Officers Square, in downtown Fredericton.they will be having live music on the stage, craft vendors surround the square, amazing pizza from Milda’s Pizzas & More, great iced tea from Ultimate Tiki INC. and a beverage garden with tasty beer from Picaroons Traditional Ales and delicious cider from York County Cider!

We will also be selling pride flags and other small pride related items at our Committee tent, so stop on by and get yourself your very own pride flag!

Parade Route 2017

1. Gather at parking lot behind Royal Canadian Legion at west end of Queen Street by 12:30 pm on Sunday, August 13th, 2017
2. Parade departs at 1:00 pm to move along Northumberland Street
3. Parade turns east (left) on King Street
4. Parade turns north (left) on York Street
5. Parade turns east (right) on Queen Street
6. Floats turn right at Queen and Carleton Street to fade out of parade
7. Parade walkers continue walking down queen street and turn north (left) into Officer’s Square

“Gayby Baby” Fredericton Pride Movie Night 2017

Join us in Officers Square for a movie under the stars during Pride Week!

GAYBY BABY follows the lives of four kids – Gus, Ebony, Matt and Graham – whose parents all happen to be gay. As they each wrestle with personal change, the outside world wrestles with the issue of marriage equality, and whether or not kids of same-sex families are at risk.

This year’s panel will feature some fantastic local voices! The panel will be followed by a question period, and we encourage audience participation. Hope to see you there!

It’s back folks! A night of music, spoken word and poetry during Pride Week!

Ever wondered what the “B” in LGBT stood for? What about the “A” or the “P” in LGBTQIAP+? With so many identities included in Pride, it can be easy for some to slip through the cracks and seem confusing or mysterious. This panel will feature speakers who identify as Bisexual, Asexual, and/or Pansexual to share with you their perspectives and experiences as members of the community who may not always feel understood, even at Pride. Join us for an evening of discussion about terminology and identity featuring local humans sharing a glimpse into a few more identities included in the ever-expanding acronym.

The time has come and everything will be put on the line as the Kings and Queen will be putting on the finest show of 2017! So come on down and cheer on your favorite king and queen one last time and we will see who will be crowned.

It’s the biggest party of the year! Thats right its the time of the year that everyone come together to celebrate what they stand!

Pride Crosswalk

Festival Attendees will be able to enjoy the brand-new spanking rainbow crosswalk. The rainbow is a symbol of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community. The cost of $1,200 for the crosswalk was paid for by Fredericton Pride committee.

The new crosswalk will cross Queen Street (how appropriate) by York Street in front of City Hall. Here are some pictures of the workers painting the lines (via Pride Facebook page):
