Lest We Forget


It is time to remember those who have given themselves in defence of our country. Fred-E-Scene has compiled the events around Fredericton to honour those fallen soldiers.


Remembrance Day Parade and Ceremony



10:15 a.m. the parade will form up at the Carlton Street Armoury and parade to the Fredericton Cenotaph. The ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m.

The Upper Kingsclear Fire Department (UKFD) will once again be holding a Remembrance Day Service at the Upper Kingsclear Fire Hall, Station 1, 22 Mazerolle Settlement Road, Upper Kingsclear, NB on Nov 11, 2017, 10:30 AM. This will include the Hanwell Rural Community. Lunch will be provided by the UKFD but the community is requested to provide sweets. Wreaths can be purchased at the Royal Canadian Legion Fredericton, 1-506-464-8732. If anyone would like to place a wreath in memory of a veteran or add a name to the Honour roll, please contact, Linda at 363-5316 or lkrn@hotmail.com. We hope to see many people attend.


New Maryland

All are welcome to attend our Annual Remembrance Day Service at the Victoria Hall Park Cenotaph starting at 10:45 am, followed by a reception at the New Maryland Centre.



November 11, 2017:  For those planning to attend the Remembrance Day Service at the New Jerusalem Cenotaph, the gates at Blue Mountain and Hibernia in addition to Petersville will be open on Nov. 11 all day from approx. 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

When traveling in the Training Area, please ensure that you have the following CFB Gagetown telephone number with you in case you have vehicle problems, etc:   422-2000 extension 3121. That is the number for the on-duty personnel at Range Control.  Cell service in the Training Area is good in some areas and poor in others.

Proud to rise today in the House of Commons today to share the story of St. Stephen native, Sgt. Harold Shaughnessy of Town of St. Stephen, who recently received a full military burial, 100 years after his death at the battle of in the Battle of Hill 70.
