It’s never been this easy to tick those items off your holiday shopping list!  With Fredericton Tourism’s new on-line portal, “The Market Basket” you can even do your holiday shopping in pajamas this year! The site showcases a wide array of locally produced, handmade, globally oriented products. And the best part? They’re unique and one of a kind, guaranteed to earn you the “best giver of gifts” title! 

The vendors listed below is by no means complete, there are over 125 currently on the website!  This is just a little something to pique your curiosity! We strongly encourage you to check out our site, www.themarketbasket.ca for the full list!

Mulhouse Fine Foods – Fancy a fine brie or gruyere? The Mulder family have been in the business of providing you with a huge selection of cheeses and other fine foods for over 40 years, so they know their stuff!

Gaia Designs – Contemporary folk-art cards, prints, and original paintings, inspired by the cycles of nature, as well as spirituality and mythology.

Liminal Gardens – Permaculture-based market farm in Waterborough, NB selling organic sourdough breads and a small variety of produce.

Barnyard WoodworkingAs their Facebook page says, they make everything from mailboxes to jelly cupboards! Barnyard Woodworking has a great selection of decorative wood products and antique styles that would definitely be a great gift to give or to receive! 

RB Designs – Felted soaps, dyes, clothing and so much more! Eco friendly naturally dyed garments, accessories and home décor products using natural fibres and local materials.

Jenny Jynx Creative Culinary – Jenny creates customizable “graze board” or charcuterie boards (think cornucopia on a platter!) and absolutely breathtaking cakes and other sweet things (a work of art!).

Jewell Paper Studio – Paper products that are handcrafted, heirloom quality gifts, keepsakes, party supplies & favors and non-traditional greetings. 

Soul Flower Herbals – Buy locally harvested, plant – based creations such as soaps, balms, salves, candles & more!  Local herbalist Cecilia Brooks personally creates small batches of product to ensure freshness and quality.

TigerLily Glass – Delightfully colourful creations using a fused glass method.  Lanterns, wall hangings, lampshades & so much more in beautiful designs.

Luna Baby Boutique – A great variety of products for mom and baby, from nursing pillows and pads to a variety of protective masks in cute patterns.

Joslyn Road – Named after its owner, Jocelyn Mazerolle, Joslyn Road creates mixed media & encaustic paintings as well as handcrafted stone & recycled glass work.

Tailored Tots – If you are a mom or know of a mom with a teething baby, you will love these products! All items are safe and practical as well as enjoyable for babies and stylish for moms! This is a great alternative to mass produced plastic toys. 

Sublime Quilts – Check out owner Susan Sears Esty page and you’ll find New Brunswick-made, flannel and cotton rag “throw-size” quilts. Super colourful and unique, they’d make a perfect gift!

Gagetown Distilling & Cidery – Find tasty varieties of cider made exclusively from fruit grown on their farm as well as a selection of other spirits and merchandise.  A true “grown in NB” operation!  

Lotus & Loon – Described as “A blend of the traditional and modern”, Lotus and Loon features imported quality handmade and artisan products from Southeast Asia. 

Maybee Brewing – Operating since 2016, Maybee Brewing ships Canada wide! For that beer connoisseur on your list, perhaps consider a Workhouse IPA or Harvest Ale? If you can’t decide, play it safe with the Maybee Brew Mixed Flat! Maybee Brewing is on the #FredTapTrail circuit, so another reason to buy!
